This stunning filly was purchased by Daniel and Claire at the Tattersalls Yearling Sales for 31,000 guineas and is proved another example of their talent at finding horses that are able to compete at a high level on a modest budget. A daughter of Teofilo has already sired 5 individual group one winners including two, two year old group one winners. He has sired Group One winners at distances ranging from a mile to a mile and three quarters. Including Irish Derby winner Trading Leather. Teofilo himself is by the world’s leading stallion Galileo and was an unbeaten Champion two year old. A beautiful athletic filly who has plenty of scope she ought to be a mid season two year old who continues to improve at three. Affileo is from a very succesful German family renowned for their toughness and durability as racehorses.

A big rangy filly with a light action. Having looked promising early on she grew a lot during her two year old career so we had to be patient, given an early winter break she strengthened up nicely. She bolted up by five lengths on her racecourse debut at Wolverhampton as a three year and looks an exciting prospect for the 2015 season, attracting the interest of leading owners Team Valor International she was bought to stay in training with Daniel and Claire before heading stateside to aim for top fillies turf races there.

Affileo won a competitive handicap on her second start over nine and half furlongs beating several last time out winners. She then stepped up in class and trip and was far from disgraced in a competitive Oaks Trial at Lingfield, finishing fifth of ten having travelled very well in the race and perhaps not quite seeing out the trip.
