Thoughts on Autocracy at LingfieldJune 11, 2012
Autocracy is declared to run over five furlongs in the 5.50 at Lingfield on Tuesday 12th of June. Mikael Barzalona is riding off his minimum weight. Running horses off bottom weights in handicaps isn’t generally the most successful ploy but there were a lack of options, especially with the wet weather around. The field of ten runners is certainly far from the strongest group of horses ever assembled for a race, and question marks can be put against most of the field for one reason or another. Chjimes is a consistent old chap in his grade especially at this course. Instructress has her good and bad days but on a good day would certainly be more than up to beating most of these. Bateleur is another who could run well, although he has never run on the all weather. Autocracy works well at home and seems in great order, however he has as of yet been unable to translate this to a racecourse, maybe Tuesday will be the day – here’s to hoping!
