Thoughts on Piccadillo at Wolverhampton today

August 26, 2014

Piccadillo runs in the 19.50 at Wolverhampton today. Thomas Brown rides in the seven furlong nursery. Piccadillo ran an odd race at Leicester last time out and we were disappointed. She never travelled as well as she can and seemed a little unsettled by the up and down nature of the track. She was plugging on at the end so a step up in trip seems feasible. Her best run was on a flat track so we’ve decided to keep her to flat tracks for the time being. This will be the first time she races around a bend. She ought to handle the new Tapeta track at Wolverhampton. She is well drawn.

It’s quite an open race and cases can be made for plenty of the runners. Old Fashion and Western Playboy have been placed on their most recent starts and can make an impact. Faraajh who makes his handicap debut steps up in trip is a likely improver.
