Thoughts on Amor Invicto at Chelmsford today

September 3, 2015

Amor Invicto runs in the 6.15 at Chelmsford this evening (Thursday, September 3rd). Martin Lane maintains his partnership with the two year old colt in the mile maiden. Amor Invicto made a pleasing debut at Salisbury three weeks ago, travelling well to cross the line in third. The experience will have done him good and he should have come on for the run. He has shown a bit more at home since. This race was originally scheduled as being over seven furlongs and it hadn’t been the intention to step up to a mile just yet but it shouldn’t be a problem for the colt. What does pose a challenge is being drawn fourteen of fourteen as one can easily become stuck out wide around the bend and its certainly advantageous to be drawn low over this trip at the track.

The race presents an interesting mix of horses with some reasonable form and interesting newcomers. Theydon Grey who was fifth at Newmarket on debut looks the most likely winner of those who have runner given a usual amount of improvement for that first run. Threebagsue has shown enough on the all weather runs to play a part whilst debutantĀ Velvet Revolution is a half brother to a horse who won a Grade One in America on the all weather andĀ merits respect.
