Round up of the weeks actionNovember 29, 2015
Both runners this week were placed, Bailiwick ran a good race to finish third from a tricky draw at Chelmsford under Adam Kirby on Thursday. Although no match for a very well handicapped winner he looks as if his turn isn’t far away. On Friday Karnage finally started to look like the racehorse his stunning looks have always threatened, when finishing second in a strongly run race at Wolverhampton, with nearly four lengths back to third and the rest of the field well strung out behind. Luke Morris felt that he will have learned a lot about racing as its the first time he has been properly involved in the business end of a race and he was quite green when really asked to stretch out. He looked as if further would be no problem either, which opens up a few more options. Hopefully the handicapper isn’t too hard on him and Karnage should be well up to winning soon.
On Friday it was good to catch up with David Abbot, who came to see Hilltop Ranger out on the gallops and doing a bit of stalls practice before heading on to Newbury for the afternoon’s jump card. With the proximity of the Newbury it always makes for a nice day to come and visit the yard before going racing. We caught up again at Wolverhampton in the evening which David was passing en route home! Hilltop Ranger runs for the Diskovery syndicate and we have picked out a few targets for her in mid – December, there are still a couple of shares in her if anyone wanted to get involved.
We are also delighted that one of the most rapidly growing and successful syndicate companies Ontoawinner have decided to get involved in the yard with their first horse to be trained in the south of England. Since forming in June 2011 the syndicate has raced 67 winners including Mill Reef winner Twocoolforschool and Cornwallis Stakes winner Quiet Reflection. They are coming in on the exciting colt by Sepoy that we purchased at Tattersalls in the yearling sales last month. For more details on what they are offering you can visit their site here.
