Av A Word and the National
If you are looking for something to do in the build up to this afternoon’s (Saturday April 8th) Grand National then the 4.50 at Lingfield could provide the perfect medium before you get the pin out to try and find the winner of the worlds most famous race!
Av A Word runs over a mile and a half with Adam Kirby back on board. The thing with Av A Word is he is laid back to a fault and has taken a long time to understand what racing is about – finally last time on his 8th start he actually ran like a racehorse. It was his second consecutive runners up spot and his best performance, physically he is growing and strengthening all the time and should therefore keep improving. Today’s race is actually a slight drop in grade and the small field should suit. Adam is in a league of his own when it comes to riding this track so there are plenty of positives.
Moneyoryourlife won nicely last time out and sets a pretty solid standard for this type of race. The unexposed handicap debutant Look My Way should be much better over the extra half mile he encounters today and rates the danger.
In the big race itself we like the look of Last Samuri and wish good supporters of our Paul and Clare Rooney the best of luck
