Business Internship Opportunity

You will develop and learn, working in an ambitious racehorse training business. You will work together with the directors of Kubler Racing, Daniel and Claire Kubler gaining exposure to a variety of facets of running a business in this dynamic sporting environment. You will be part of a close knit team and given responsibility for a variety of projects whilst based at a stunning, newly built state of the art facility in the heart of Upper Lambourn, Berkshire, known around the world as the valley of the racehorse. For centuries it has been one of the most important racehorse training areas in the world.

You will be involved in preparing marketing material and campaigns, client communication and assisting the office manager with her duties. Not only will you benefit from it, you will actively contribute to a human resources strategy recognised as one of the best in the industry. With a top level three star rating we were also shortlisted for the Lycett’s Team Champion Award. An award that recognises the racehorse trainers using the highest quality employment practices.  You will be encouraged to research new ideas and to put your own ones forward and develop them by Daniel and Claire in several business areas. You will be expected to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and capable of working independently.

Those with experience around horses are welcome to develop their horsemanship and contribute to the high-quality training of thoroughbreds. However, this is not an essential part of the role and the main aim of the internship is for you to develop your business knowledge and experience.

No two days are ever quite the same. Racing like all sports is an entertainment industry, it is also an animal care industry. Quality care means it is a 24/7 industry that operates 365 days a year. You will be learning and developing for around 35 hours a week including some Saturdays, expect trips to sales and the races and the odd day that’s a bit different! You will get out of this internship what you put into it.

Here’s what previous intern Fenella Holland a Sports Management undergraduate at Loughborough University has to say;

“What I enjoy most about my role is the variety of tasks I’m given whilst having the freedom to learn and develop using Dan and Claire’s guidance, knowledge and experience.”
