Quick Thoughts on Today’s Runners
Always a busy time of year for the team with the sales season getting underway. This means a lot of time is spent looking for future stars and doing the analysis required to prepare for the yearlings sales as well as attending them to inspect the horses so apologies to regular followers for less in depth previews than is usual.
Reims heads to Salisbury for the 4.15 where Richard Kingscote rides in the five furlong handicap. She made an encouraging first start for the yard when third over six furlongs at Wolverhampton and travelled strongly that day suggesting the drop back to five should suit. This is her first start on turf but the family are versatile and there is nothing to suggest that it will cause any issue.
Billie Portwin leads up the filly for owner/breeders Gary and Lesley Middlebrook.
Outrage runs at Chelmsford in the 8.20. Adam McNamara is aboard for the five furlong handicap. Options are limited for him at the minute as he needs a sound surface or the all weather, so he goes here in the absence of better options. As a hold up horse this track doesn’t really play to his strengths as inevitably one needs a lot of luck around the bend and in the short run in. That said there does look to be good bit of pace in the race so it could set up nicely.
James Pulley leads up Outrage for the Capture The Moment Partnership, look out for some new partnerships being launched soon. Shaun Johnson travelling manager will oversee proceedings.
