Thoughts on Arishka at Newcastle
Arishka returns to Newcastle tonight for the 5.25. Kieran O’Neill rides the filly as the pair bid to repeat their success at the venue earlier this year. The filly has enjoyed both her visits to the track. She blew away the cobwebs on a return to action in a higher grade after break last time, where things didn’t really pan out from a tricky draw at Wolverhampton.
The race is a tight little contest with the form of a similar event at Newcastle a couple of weeks ago playing a key part in proceedings. Be Proud finished half a length ahead of Hard Solution in race run in a decent time, with Almurr not much further behind. Hasaad is the least exposed runner and therefore open to improvement. Henley has been competing at a higher level and may well be a danger down in grade. Longroom got the better Landing Night and Hard Solution on his last run at Wolverhampton and is another that should not be discounted.
Arishka races for Crowd Racing and The Diskovery Partnership, shares are available in new partnerships in exciting yearlings for both syndicates. She will be led up by Billie Portwin and overseen by travelling manager Shaun Johnson.
