Thoughts on Chitra

Chitra runs in the 2.20 at Redcar. Paul Hanagan takes the ride in the six furlong nursery as the filly bids to continue her run of good form. She won nicely at Kempton before travelling very well at Ffos Las when only worn down in the late stages to finish second in more testing than ideal conditions for her. The good ground should be ideal for her today. There is generally not much of a draw bias at Redcar, however there is a slight concern that it looks like a lot of the major players are drawn on the opposite side of the track and the race may develop away from Chitra to a degree. This may or may not play into her favour.

On Route was the one horse we were a little bit concerned about, but we declared having been informed she would not be running, however it looks like her trainer had a change plans late in the day, her seconds in a higher grade set the standard. War Tigress is interesting on her first run in handicap company and Samantha James has shown ability but perhaps has lost her way of late.
