Thoughts on Chitra at Chelmsford

Chitra runs in the 7.00 at Chelmsford this evening. Richard Kingscote who has an excellent record aboard the filly (five wins together) is on board and the pair are well drawn in stall 2. Chitra didn’t see out the six furlongs last time out and was poorly drawn on her previous start and endured a bit of a horror trip as a result so deserves a bit of luck.

This race looks fairly open, last time out winner Invincible Larne is effective over five as well as the six he won over last time, he has been consistent this season in races just a touch easier so will need a career best here, he also doesn’t have the best of the draw. Reassure has new headgear and drops in grade and could be a bigger danger. The veteran Dynamo Walt has run well in a couple of stronger races of late and should be taken into consideration here.

Chitra will be led up by James Pulley this evening, he is owned by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook who also bred the speedy seven time winner.
