Thoughts on Dawn Commando
Dawn Commando heads to Newbury for the 4.20 this afternoon. He will be partnered by George Downing in the one mile maiden. A big horse he should improve for his debut at Doncaster on very deep ground. He’s dropped back to a mile today so that he doesn’t finish too tired but he should in due course benefit from racing over further again. He’s the type of horse to develop and strengthen as the year goes on and today is another stepping stone for him.
The race is traditionally a very strong one and there could lurk amongst the field several smart future performers. Ta Allak has a very eye catching pedigree and is the most interesting of the newcomers, whilst He’s Amazing sets the standard on form to date and looks as if this trip will suit him.
