Thoughts on Dixie’s Double

Dixie’s Double heads to Lingfield for the 3.00 tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday 8th of March). Luke Morris rides the filly in the five furlong handicap. Luke won on the filly in the summer on the turf track. It hasn’t been plain sailing since then, but the filly is in good heart at home and should enjoy the fast polytrack more than the fibresand experiment that was attempted last time out. The filly is drawn seven of ten which is a little wider than ideal around the tight turning track.

The race features some in form horses including last time out course and distance winners Mercers and Roundabout Magic. Goodwood Crusader might find the trip a touch sharp and it remains to be seen if Moonlight Magic’s improvement last time out was as a result of the way the race panned out or a genuine improvement.

Dixie’s Double winning under Luke Morris.
