Thoughts on Friday’s runners

We send out another two runners from Sarsen Farm today, Andaleep runs in the 6.22pm at Goodwood under Rhys Clutterbuck. whilst Forest Demon heads to Newmarket to line up in the 7.40pm, Jack Mitchell will be in the saddle.

Andaleep

Andaleep has won at Goodwood before so handles the track. He has won over a mile and half the distance he tackles here, but most of his form is over the mile and a quarter. He’s arguably unexposed at this trip. He made a bright start to his season when third in a deep race at Newbury. Andaleep wasn’t quite as good next time at Windsor. He probably paid for taking on a favourite who ended up winning well and was a cut above the rest of the field.

Andaleep

This is quite a tight contest, despite the small field. La Pulga is in good form after a win at Hamilton and a close second at Pontefract on his most recent starts Vega Sicilia is clearly talented but, has the look of one who always finds one too good. He’s beaten second on five of his last six starts, and has started favourite for five races in a row. He does get first time blinkers which may coerce a bit more from him. Enthrallment made a solid start for new connections last time and there could be more to come.

Andaleep runs in the colours of owner James Finch. He will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who cares for him daily at home.

Forest Demon

Forest Demon has been frustrating this season. Nothing has really gone his way so far, be it ground or luck in running. Last time he was clipped from behind when travelling well and lost momentum at a crucial stage of the race. One never likes a horse that continuously finds an excuse but we believe he remains well handicapped.

Forest Demon

A case could likely be made for quite a few of these. Edge of Ember hasn’t done much wrong in his four novice starts and its likely a matter of time before he gets a win on the board, after filling the runners up spot on each start. Whilst he doesn’t look ahead of his mark, its also indicative that he’s shown more ability so far than the rest of the field. Cancan In The Rain ran well on his first run over a mile in a slightly higher grade. That’s probably the best form in the race.

Forest Demon runs for syndicate owners Capture The Moment IX. He will be led up by Tamsin Karn
