Thoughts on Lady Dauphin
Lady Dauphin runs in the 4.00 at Chelmsford this afternooon. Richard Kingscote is in the saddle as the filly tackles the ten furlong handicap. The filly has managed a pair of solid third places over a mile since joining the yard, both times looking as if this step up to ten would be suitable. Analysis of her homework suggests that she has a stride pattern to suit the extra distance.
Its notable that the strength and depth of racing on the all weather at this sort of level has increased quite a bit at the moment and this race looks no different. Its an interesting contest, Settle Petal and Lothario weren’t beaten far under the same conditions a couple of weeks ago when fourth and fifth, but there are others here that could have more to offer. Fenix and Tie A Yellowribbon are unexposed at this trip and are recent recruits to their respective stables and could well offer more. Stormingin is eased in grade and will find that life is easier in this company.
Lady Dauphin is owned by the Johnsons, she will be led up this afternoon by Alice Robert and overseen by Travelling Manager Shaun Johnson.
