Thoughts on Nantosuelta
Nantosuelta lines up at Southwell in the 5f Novice at 1.30pm this afternoon (Monday 24th of January). Jack Mitchell knows her well having ridden her on her last start and will be on board once again today as she drops back a furlong for her third run. Her pedigree and two runs to date point to this being the correct move. Jack recommended that the straight track here would see her in a better light.
The race essentially features a group of fairly exposed sprinters who are yet to win and on official ratings are closely matched. Light of Thunder comes with a slightly different angle making her debut for new connections and taking a marked drop back in trip. She has been fairy free in some of her races so perhaps it will work out, albeit the limited data on her striding pattern isn’t entirely supportive of the drop in trip. Sensible arguments can be made for Tantastic, Gustav Graves, Highest Ambition & Ubahaha who all have run to a similar level at their best but none of whom are particularly consistent. Highest Ambition gets cheekpieces for the first time and that might be enough to give him the edge.
Nantosuelta runs for owners Crowd, New Image Contracts & Partners and we wish them the very best of luck. She will be led up by Epona Miller who cares for her on a daily basis at home.
