Thoughts on Norse Legend at Lingfield tomorrow

Norse Legend has his second run of the season tomorrow (5th June) in the 3.40 at Lingfield. Like his seasonal reappearance at Bath, Richard Kingscote takes the ride in the extended 1m 3 furlong handicap. Norse Legend will certainly appreciate the rain that has been falling this week and today, the softer the better. He should come on for his first run of the year and is in good form at home.

The race looks fairly open with all the runners still maidens and a lot of them untried in the conditions and just beginning their careers. Federic Chopin has been the busiest of the 14 runners having being placed four 4 times on the All Weather earlier in the year but was disappointing on his sole turf start of the year. Snow Conditions ran well on her handicap debut and wasn’t disgraced on in a better race at Windsor on soft ground last time out. Coastal Storm ought to appreciate any cut underfoot and the step up in trip. Handicap debutants Dark Days and Sound of Life could both make significant improvement now facing more realistic opposition.
