Thoughts on Piccadillo at Windsor
Piccadillo makes the second start of her career in the 6.25 at Windsor tomorrow evening. Thomas Brown takes the ride in the six furlong fillies maiden. More was expected of Piccadillo first time out and she was very babyish in the race so hopefully her disappointing performance can be put down to first night nerves. She’s done some solid work since and will strip fitter for her start tomorrow. We’ve also done some more stalls work as she was a bit tardy getting away last time out and got a bump early in the race as a result. She should break much better and if she does she is well drawn to take advantage of running against the stands rail.
There are some very smartly bred fillies in the race, and whilst those that have raced already didn’t show a massive amount first time out this could be a very good race. Any improvement from Pixaeleen and particularly Mystic and Artist would set a pretty decent standard. Kizingo and Majestic Manner are both out of Group One winners and Kizingo was a very expensive yearling so could be something a bit special. Hey You and Alhella also cost a bit at the sales and have the pedigree to be competitive in a field like this.
