Thoughts on Shamiana at Wolverhampton today

Shamiana runs in the 6.30 at Wolverhampton today (12th of December). Steve Drowne is in the saddle for the eight and a half furlong handicap. Shamiana ran a much better race on her second start after the break last time out and this race has been the target since then. She has trained well in the lead up and she should be capable of running her best race with a bit of luck this evening. She has always been a tricky horse to gauge the correct trip for but has run well over course distance a couple of times and seemed to handle the Tapeta surface on her most recent start there. The track has been worked deeper than usual this week so may be riding a bit slower than it has been, which would probably be to Shamiana’s advantage. She has a helpful draw in stall three.

Lord of the Storm is the horse to beat in the race following his course and distance win last time out. Supa Seeker is a solid type in this class of race and won’t be too far away and its always worth keeping an eye on a handicap debutant like Norman’s Star in a race of this nature.
