Thoughts on Silhouette at Goodwood

Another trip to Goodwood this afternoon as Silhouette heads there for the 2.25 at ten furlong maiden (Tuesday 30th of August). Timmy Murphy is on board Silhouette who has run several solid races this season in both maidens and handicaps without getting a deserved win. We try him back over ten furlongs again here. Hopefully his experience stands him in good stead against some less battle hardened rivals.

The race is interesting from a form perspective as Saunter has done his racing in France to date and carries quite a lofty official rating of 90, which seems high on what he has achieved there but is quite a long way ahead of anything Silhouette or the other horse with a mark Heartstone has managed. At the weights Silhouette has a bit to find with Heartstone on official ratings but her form is in steadily run maidens where as Silhouette’s best efforts are in handicaps with solid pace to them. Both the Normandie Stud runners are of interest on their debuts being beautifully bred fillies and no doubt good looking given there lofty purchase tags.
