Thoughts on Silhouette at Newbury
Silhouette makes his seasonal reappearance at Newbury this afternoon (Friday 13th of May) in the 3.45. Timmy Murphy will the first time gelding ride in the seven furlong maiden. Silhouette was very coltish on both his starts last year and didn’t show a great deal, he came back from his second run with a small injury which required a bit of time out and is now healed. He was gelded over the winter and hopefully will be more focused on the job at the races today. He would probably be best suited by better ground. He is likely to be seen to best effect once qualified for handicaps.
It looks a decent event as one would expect for a maiden at the track. Chess Master was a stand out yearling and showed potential on debut and is probably the horse to beat. Dream Free is interesting amongst the newcomers, whilst Gunmetal, Mamillius and Emerald Loch are interesting in the conditions.
