Thoughts on Solent Meads at Kempton today
Solent Meads goes to Kempton this afternoon (Monday, 25th of September) for the 5.35. George Downing is on board for the mile handicap as the pair bid to double up on their recent course and distance win. George gave Solent Meads an exceptionally good ride that day but the gelding also showed a willingness to knuckle down and put up his best performance of the season. This afternoon is a slight step up in grade but the race is restricted to three year olds only so with a kinder draw he should be competitive once again.
Tailor’s Row isn’t always consistent but the best of his recent form marks him out as a big danger in this grade. He’s also run well at the track in the past. Evening Hill will probably be suited by a drop back in trip and if that brings a little step forward he too could be a danger in a race where cases could be made for a few.
