Thoughts on today’s runners

Two runners today (12th April) at Kempton. Freesia Gold (second in the photo) kicks things off in the 4.35 under Kieran O’Neill. Freesia Gold hasn’t really had the rub of the green since going handicapping often showing a bit of promise in maiden company. She wears cheek pieces for the first time as she’s shown a slight tendency to travel in snatches during her races. She has a nice draw in four.

Hooflepuff ran well for third over course and distance in a slightly higher grade contest last time out and sets the standard for others to aim at here. With most of the field lightly raced three year olds there are several that could step forward.

Freesia Gold will be led up by Andy Williams and assisted by travelling manager Shaun Johnson. She is regularly ridden at home by Jenny Hughes.

Dawn Commando (leading in the photo) wraps up the evening in the 8.15. Adam Kirby rides the gelding in the 7 furlong race. The combination won nicely at Kempton over a mile last time in a strongly run race. Whether they can be as effective over this trip remains to be seen and the draw is a bit wider than ideal.

Dawn Commando has been consistent of late which is something not all of these can claim. A few that have shown being capable of a similar level of form here to a include Tellovoi has a similar level of form based on recently placed efforts including two starts back when second behind the progressive Jai Hanuman who also saw off Dawn Commando when he was second on his penultimate start. Whilst Rising Sunhine’s standout recent effort was a course and distance second.

Dawn Commando will be led up by Andy Williams and assisted by travelling manager Shaun Johnson. He is regularly ridden at home by Office Manager Grace Stephens. He is owned by Andrew Stonehill.

We have a couple of great partnerships opportunities at the moment the Diskovery Partnership 5% and 10% shares in a two year old filly and Capture the Moment have 25% shares in a quality two year old colt.
