Thoughts on Two Year Old Debutant Trinity River Tomorrow
Trinity River make her first public appearance tomorrow (June 26th) in the 2.20 at Salisbury. Darren Egan takes the ride in the five furlong fillies maiden at Salisbury. Trinity River is compact string filly who ash alway shown plenty of zip and would have made her start a lot earlier in the season had she not met with a small setback when nearly ready to run. She is back in fine order and done some nice work recently, she is probably still a little bit short fitness wise but this looked a nice opportunity to give her an introduction at a local track which always has a nice racing surface. Trinity River is bred to be a two year old and we’d hope is up to winning in the not too distant future.
The race looks a competitive affair, Weisse Socken sets a good standard on her two appearances, however Meeting Waters ran a nice race first time out to finish second against a more experienced rival and will make it a contest. The filly that is of most interest though is Chutney who ran far better than her ninth place finish suggests on debut at Newmarket. Chutney showed a lot of speed and probably just found six furlongs too far racing on the wrong part of the track that day. It would be no surprise if she won given that the race looks like one of the best fillies maiden run so far this year, with several good performances from those involved subsequently.
