Winner – Ciara Pearl

Ciara Pearl made it 2 from 2 for 2024 with a win at Kempton under Jim Crowley on Monday 15th of April for owners Andrew and Claire Stonehill. Returning to action just a week after her first win, the filly travelled well in behind a solid pace. Jim waited into the straight, cleverly holding in his chief rival for a moment before accelerating. She was chased hard in the final two furlongs, which seemed much further at the time. Ultimately always looked to be holding runner up Wadacre Grace.

Ciara Pearl was dropping back to a mile which had its risks and its likely that she’ll be better over the ten furlongs she won over last week. In the immediate future she holds an entry in the 7.30 at Nottingham on Saturday evening which we will consider. There are however other options down the line and we also have to think of the long term, as this big scopey filly is likely to improve as she strengthens further this summer. It may be better to be a bit a patient. How she is in the next few days is the first criteria.

Ciara Pearl was bought as a yearling by Daniel & Claire from Whatton Manor Stud farm who have nurtured this family.

The filly is looked after at home and ridden by Arla Cheshire. Thank you to her and the team we work together with here at Sarsen Farm. It takes a lot of attention to detail to turn around horses to win in quick time frames successfully.
