4th win of year for Outrage
Outrage is a horse on an upward curve, easily dispatching a decent field with a strong late run under Richard Kingscote at Kempton Park yesterday afternoon.
Drawn widest of all in stall ten on the tight five furlong track, Richard tacked across to the rail from the gates. Settled nicely some way off the strong pace set by eventual runner up Come on Dave he travelled comfortably but still had plenty of ground to make up with a furlong to run. He burst through the pack and easily caught the leader under a hand ride to win by a length. In a time just 0.5 seconds outside of the track record and Timeform have given him a rating of 101 for the performance.
Having won off a handicap mark of 87 he will face a rise into the low nineties and we have to consider our options going forward. Clearly a lover of fast turf there will be some nice targets in the summer and we will need to climb a few pounds more to reach the high nineties to ensure getting into some of the prestigious sprint races. It is also worth considering whether he may make up into a horse for the All Weather Sprint Championship. He clearly enjoys the surfaces but again has a little bit more improvement to find if he is to get into the final itself. The final is over six and although all five of his career wins to date have been over five furlongs, he has done nothing to suggest that six furlongs is beyond him, it may even suit him. There is a qualifier on the 12th of January at Newcastle over five furlongs which is a track which really suits him and that may well make a sensible next target at this stage.
Outrage was the most gorgeous yearling and we were given the order to buy him following the successful sale of Il Paparazzi to Hong Kong, another yearling purchase, who won a maiden at York by lengths before finishing third in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes. It was a rare opportunity to be able buy a horse at the prestigious Book 1 Sale at Tattersalls at Newmarket and we are delighted for his owners that there faith has been rewarded with five wins from seventeen starts and plenty more fun to come. Every single colt we have bought as a yearling has won and we look forward to being able to continue that record with a promising group of two year olds and yearlings. We have one lovely colt for sale for more details check out his profile here
