A lovely evening at Salisbury a beautiful morning at Whitsbury

Spin Again was the only disappointing part of a lovely summers evening at Salisbury yesterday, joined by a few friends and a generous free owners and trainers bar provided by Betfair it wasn’t a totally disastrous first foray to our local track. The going was very quick (firm, good to firm in places) and Spin Again decided right from the outset he wasn’t keen on ground that fast, he’s a wise old boy and on his fiftieth start decided he would look after himself. Spin Again didn’t lose any weight and looks fine this morning. He’ll go to Lingfield on Tuesday 29th of May for a claimer over seven furlongs and is clearly much happier on all weather racing surfaces.

Cobbs Quay has been given an entry at Sandown next Thursday evening in the hope that the forecast rain for the area materialises.

A quite morning on the gallops as we worked a few yesterday, including the well bred Mont Signal a two year old colt by Pivotal who stretched his legs in a solo spin for the first time and when he put his head down showed a good attitude. Vicki Brooks who works for us full timehas been a regular competitor at horse of the year show including several placed efforts who works for us has also been plenty of “schooling” work with our latest recruit Red Yarn. This involves getting her to use herself and strengthen her back end on the flat and over small poles to get her to lengthen her stride. There are still two shares available in the Blue Star Partnership who own her.
