Av A Word Wins
Av A Word broke through to grab his first victory at Brighton yesterday afternoon (Monday May 15th) over a mile and a quarter. In a furiously run race Av A Word was some way off the pace through the early stages of the race. As the pace began to tell he was able to start passing his rivals and pulled quite a long way clear before starting to idle as he neared the line with runner up Bettsalottie looming large behind him, however the excellent Luke Morris was able to keep him up to his work as he hung on for victory with a massive eight lengths back to third.
Av A Word by Aussie Rules is the first foal out of the unraced mare Real Me (Mark of Esteem). He was bred by Peter Onslow who races the gelding in partnership with Kevin Nash. Peter has been a lucky owner with us and a long term supporter first through being invovled in a couple of syndicates and latterly with a couple of his homebreds all four of the horses he has raced with us have won. On Friday Flooded who he also bred and owns half of makes his debut at Newbury. He also has an exciting two year old by Havana Gold out of the excellent racemare and stakes producing Trick or Treat in training.
Av A Word has been given an entry at Redcar next Monday and may be given other engagements in the coming days.
