Beside the Seaside
Spin Again was disappointing yesterday; he looked to have a great chance but it was soon apparent that the ground was too soft for him as the rain had fallen steadily during the late morning and early afternoon in what was a pretty miserable day at Yarmouth. Fortunately William Buick looked after the horse once it became obvious he had no chance and he seems to be well this morning. He holds entries at Newcastle and Lingfield on Saturday but definitely wouldn’t go to Newcastle and it seems fairly likely that we will give Lingfield a swerve as it may be a bit too soon; although on form he would have a live chance looking at the entries. The plan is probably to aim for a seller at Wolverhampton on the 24th of April as the owner is keen to move the horse on at this stage, so he is for sale if anyone is interested. He is a fun, genuine horse who tries and we’re are sure there are more races in him at his level, whilst the turf isn’t out the question it appears that the All Weather is his forte these days.
There has been plenty of rain here at Whitsbury too so the grass gallops will be in perfect condition for some time to come, which is great news as we have so many options to keep the horses interested in their work by providing plenty of variety.
