Chandelle Celeste debuts at Newbury

Chandelle Celeste will make her first racecourse appearance in the 1.50 at Newbury tomorrow afternoon (Friday 26th October). Eddie Ahern will ride in the six and half furlong maiden. She will learn plenty from the experience and the ground would ideally be a bit quicker, however Newbury is a lovely course to introduce a youngster and it will be nice to get a run on turf into her before the end of the season. She is good looking filly with a good walk and might want slightly further in time, we’ll learn more tomorrow.

The race itself is very difficult to judge as its restricted to maiden who not run more than twice. Inaugural looks the horse who has achieved the most on course but there are well bred newcomers from several top yards, some of whom were very expensive yearlings who could be anything. Absolutely So and King of the Danes look particularly interesting. It’s also hard to ignore Carry on Sydney who is likely to improve from his first run as many from his trainer’s ranks do.

Chandelle Celeste getting a feel for racing girths and race saddle which are bit different to the day to day exercise saddles earlier in the week.
