Chitra rounds out the year in style

Chitra ran out a comfortable winner of the 12.20 at Lingfield yesterday afternoon. It ended a fine year for the the three year old filly recording the seventh win of her career. She has now won more races than any other three year old trained in Britain.

Richard Kingscote has been her partner for all four of her wins this year. Richard rode our very first winner and has an excellent 20% strike rate aboard our horses.

The daughter of Sea the Moon is owned and was bred by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook, the filly who was twice offered at the sales and attracted no bid. She has continually improved with racing and has a wonderful attitude, which has certainly helped in placing her optimally.

Full credit to the team as the yard tied its best tally for winners, with a decent 15% strike rate for the season, meaning it was achieved with fewer runners than in the past. With prize money tied at the highest level it has ever been for a year it has been a successful first year at Sarsen Farm and we are looking forward to developing the record with our biggest team in 2020. With some exciting yearlings and a lightly raced group of two year olds to go to war with, complimented by a handful of interesting older horses. We will set ambitious targets in the new year together with our team of talented horsemen and women.
