Our first winner in taking style in the 5.40 at Kempton on 20th March 2012, he was just our second ever runner. An experienced handicapper who had lost form slightly but seemed to find it again on his return to Whitsbury where he successfully began his career when trained by Ralph Beckett. You can find a video here. He followed up by winning again for us at Lingfield on 28 March, carrying a 6lb penalty. We tried him back on the turf but he proved his far happier on the all weather and ran credibly twice more on the polytrack finishing a very unlucky third at Kempton, when he was hampered and had to be snatched up and managed a third in a good claimer at Wolverhampton. His finished his career with us in style romping to a three and half length success at Lingfield on May 29th 2012. You can view the race here (login required – free to set up).
In all he ran for us seven times and won three and was placed twice more, earning over £5,500 in just over two months. He was claimed for £5,000, not bad for a horse that when he arrived was unsellable and came with a brief to be moved on so his owner could retire!
