Involved Wins on the Roodee

Richard Kingscote gave Involved a fine ride as the gelding made an impressive turf debut in the 5:00 at Chester yesterday. The four year old son of Havana Gold was settled in mid-division by Richard, behind a strong pace. The canny rider showed why he is the go to horseman around the tight turns of the Roodee as he hugged the rails before manoeuvring to launch an attack up the short straight, pouncing decisively up the inside at the cutaway. He had a willing partner who surged to the lead and held off the late challenge of runner up Scofflaw.

It was just reward for patient owner breeder Peter Onslow who operates Sanfield Stud together with Ann Harrison. The lightly raced son of their star broodmare Trick or Treat has now won two of six starts and was returning from a six month layoff. Peter races Involved together with Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. It looks as if there is more to come from the gelding and it promises to be an exciting autumn with Involved as he continues to develop.

Involved was the tenth winner sent out from Sarsen Farm since we moved to its high quality facilities, the strike rate from the yard currently stands at at a healthy 16.9%.

Thanks to all the team who had a busy day at three different meetings and back on the yard, Chitra once again ran valiantly with a good third at Lingfield and there was further promise from the enigmatic Fronsac who continues to improve in the pre-race preliminaries.
