Mont Signal at Kempton on Wednesday evening
Mont Signal returns to Kempton on Wednesday (28th of November) evening in the 5.30. Martin Dwyer rides the Pivotal gelding in the 6 furlong maiden. Mont Signal’s future lies in handicaps, so this run will qualify him for a mark as he will most likely struggle with some of the leading fancies in the race. He wears a tongue tie for the first time, this should help him finish his race out better than on his last start over seven furlongs where he travelled up with the main field before fading in the final furlong.
It looks a tricky contest to evaluate, with several horses having shown lots of promise on some of their starts. Freddy with a Y progressed significantly from first start to second and picked up well towards the end of the race suggesting six furlongs will suit him better than the five of his most recent start. Rivellino and Serenity Spa both made promising starts to their careers but failed to follow up second time out. Millers Wharf certainly has the ability to win a race like this but has had plenty of chances now. Dubai Surprise and Fire Fairy are well bred newcomers who could be contenders if matching up to their pedigrees.
