Red Yarn debuts at Lingfield
Red Yarn makes her first start for us on Saturday evening (18th August) at Lingfield over an extended seven furlongs. Eddie Ahern will be riding her. We bought the mare cheaply at Ascot sales as a fun project as she is well handicapped on old form. A number of minor physical issues seem to have caused her to lose interest in running. We have worked resolving these issues and whilst it would be nice to see her showing more zest than she does in some of her works she no longer hangs in her work and has managed some reasonable times. She has hung on several of her recent starts so there is grounds to hope for a better result. A strong positive ride will be the order of the day and hopefully she will enjoy racing more than she has done recently. It is not a very strong race and recent winner Capitol Gain looks to be the horse to beat after finally getting his act together on his most recent start in a seller. A case can be made for Catchanova who drops in class and sports blinkers for the frist time. Paphos would go close if he can match his all weather form now switched back to turf, however to date there is no indication that he runs well on turf.
For anyone interested there are still shares available in the partnership see her page for more details.
