Saturday’s Runners

After a phenomenal week with 4 winners from the last 5 runners, the team hope to continue their winning streak with three runners today. ASTRO KING heads to Haydock for the Old Newton Cup at 15:15 with James Doyle riding. GOD OF FIRE, looking to improve on his good 2nd last time out, runs at 16:00 at Beverley over 10f with Jim Crowley. VINCE LOMBARDI, again looking to improve on his close 2nd last time out, runs at Nottingham at 19:10 over 6f with Pat Cosgrave riding.

Astro King is attempting to win another big handicap to add to his incredible tally, with earnings of about £240,000 since joining the team. He is an exceptional horse and we are looking forward to trying 12f again. He will be looked after on the day by his groom Jan Kasecky and Tamsin Karn who travelled with him during his trips abroad.

God Of Fire showed lots of potential on his first run for the yard to finishing a promising 2nd. We are keeping the trip the same today and hopefully the rain stays away. He will be led up by Arla Cheshire and overseen by Shannon Pasotti.

Vince Lombardi was so close last time out finishing 2nd in a photo finish. He is owned by James Finch who had a fantastic treble at the start of the week with Andaleep assisting when winning at Windsor so let’s hope Vince Lombardi can continue the run of good form.
