Super Sprint Entries

Yesterday we made our entries for the Newbury Super Sprint. This is a great race for two year olds. Of course its a bit of a lottery at this stage as the race is run in July. The race is open to horses that cost less than £50,000 so is a great opportunity for the owners to get a real big pay day as the prize is over £100,000. We have three likely types in the yard that all deserve to take a chance at this stage. The race is run over an extended five furlongs so its the precocious sprinter types that we’ve nominated to the race.

 
Viva Madiba who is a powerful looking filly by Kodiac has speed written all over her and looks to be very precocious. Racing for the Viva partnership she costs us €16,500 in Ireland last Autumn and should have a bit of experience by the time the race rolls around.

Lady Fiona is a lovely filly with a bit more size to her than Viva Madiba. She moves nicely and whilst she hasn’t done quite as much as Viva Madiba she should be in full cry come July.

Piccadillo is the third filly we have entered, this is lovely filly was a real bargain at the sales – she is a half sister to four two year old winners and has four black type two year old winners as close relatives. She looks the part to boot and we’ve been really pleased with her progress. She has a great stride and is already very strong.
