Thoughts on today’s runners
Three runners at Sandown this afternoon. Seneca Chief is finally able to get his campaign under way in the 1.35 having waited a while for better ground. Adam McNamara is aboard for the five furlong handicap. The pair were course and distance winners last summer. Despite his age he is relatively unexposed and still developing and was competitive when running at this level on the all weather last year.
Seneca Chief is owned and was bred by Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. He will be led up Alice Roberts. He is cared for at home by Jan Kasecky and is regularly ridden by Damon Houlbrook.
Don’t Tell Claire runs in 2.50 with Liam Keniry aboard. The pair won at the track last summer and progressed nicely thereafter. Her seasonal reappearance was better than the bare result over seven furlongs at Kempton where she finished strongly from off the pace in race where it paid to be close to the front.
Don’t Tell Claire is owned by Andrew Stonehill and was purchased as a yearling by Daniel & Claire for £15,000 at Goffs Premier Sale. She will be led up Alice Roberts at home she is cared for by Jan Kasecky and regularly ridden by Nick Bentley.
Liberty Warrior runs in the 4.00 with Liam Keniry in the iron as he was when making an encouraging debut at Bath in front of a couple of horses that have subsequently placed in novice company.
Liberty Warrior races for Capture the Moment a small partnership managed by Daniel & Claire. They bought him as a yearling at the December Yearling Sales. He will be led up by Michael Coles who looks after him at home.
