Thoughts on Monkey Miss

Monkey Miss looks to back up her latest success as she heads to Salisbury on Thursday 16th May in the 3.30pm. Luke Morris takes the ride on this filly in the 3 year old Handicap over 6 furlongs.

Monkey Miss had things fall right for her last time after a series of races in which she got no luck in running. It was also her first run in handicap company back on turf. She looked impressive when pulling over three lengths clear despite not getting the best of breaks. The ground was officially recorded as Good to Soft but rated Heavy by Timeform on their analysis. The ground is likely to be quicker tomorrow but she should be fine on it.

Monkey Miss and connections after winning at Bath

This race represents a slight step up in class for Monkey Miss. Revenue and Miss Stormy Night look the dangers dropping down to this easier grade. Layoftheland’s penultimate start in a huge field at the Curragh looks solid enough form, although if she takes up her intended engagement in the 5:45 at Sligo this evening that would be a huge ask. The fact connections are sending her over suggests from Ireland suggests they must be fairly confident. Dame Darcey wasn’t quite as good last time as on her previous run but her trainer has won the last two runnings of this race.

Monkey Miss runs in the colours of owner Wayne Clifford and was bred by Sarah Clifford at their Byerley Stud. She will be led up by Epona Miller who cares for her daily at home.
