Thoughts on 2 runners at Lingfield today
Mandria (2.40) and Who’sthedaddy (5.10) head to Lingfield today (15th July).
Mandria will be ridden by Tom Queally in the six furlong handicap. A filly we liked as a two year old, she never quite delivered on the track. A nice break and a clear run training encourages us that she will put up a decent showing this afternoon if she isn’t to rusty on her return. She has a tough draw to overcome but the race appears to lack depth beyond one or two other runners. Baileys Pursuit won well last time in first time blinkers and looks to set a good standard at this grade.
Who’sthedaddy looks to follow up his comfortable victory on Saturday at Salisbury under Timmy Murphy in the the furlong handicap. This race looks a bit stronger than that one and it’s always a risk coming back to the races so soon but he seems well at home and with a rise in the way in the handicap its worth having a go.
Big McIntosh won a similar contest to Who’sthedaddy last time and is also a three year old up against his elders. Those elders are consistent types in this grade so it will be interesting to see how the form matches up.
