Thoughts on a brace of runners at Chepstow tomorrow

Karnage runs in the 2.40. Timmy Murphy rides in the mile handicap. Karnage has often travelled very well in his races without getting the job done at the business end of the race so we are trying a different approach by dropping him in distance. Hopefully it will bring about an improved performance as he was disappointing last time out albeit he subsequently developed a sinus infection that may have been brewing pre-race.

The race looks competitive with quite a few having a chance. Molten Lava brings some solid form to the table but the three year olds who look to be on the improve Feed the Goater and Hollywood Road have more potential and could well be of a better standard in time.

Who’sthedaddy has a bit to prove having lost his way since two comfortable victories last summer. Given break following a dispiriting all weather campaign he returns in a 10 furlong handicap under Timmy Murphy who was aboard for both those victories. He spent some time doing dressage work away from the yard to get his head into something different and has come back a stronger horse. He has got a little keen at home and we have applied a hood to curb that tendency a little.

One again its the progressive three year olds who are likely to be the big dangers and Bigger and Better may prove to be just that.

Who’sthedaddy.
