Thoughts on Abbey Heights
Abbey Heights runs this evening in the 7.25 at Kempton. Jack Mitchell is on board the 3 year old colt for the seven furlong Novice Stakes and they are drawn in stall 10. The three year old colt ran a promising race on debut and should take a step forward as he showed signs of his inexperience.
His main rivals look to be Hit The Heights who was a debutant winner in November, but does have a long absence to overcome and Thunder Power who ran well in a strong maiden on debut and returns gelded off a bit of a break. Of the debutants Lord Lovelace and Ring of Light look the most interesting.
Abbey Heights is by Dark Angel, out of the Exceed and Excel mare, Ducissa. He was bred by and races for Gary and Lesley Middlebrook. Abbey Heights will be led up by Michael Coles, and overseen by travelling manager, Shaun Johnson.
