Thoughts on Al Rufaa

Al Rufaa heads to Woverhampton this evening for the 6.45pm, Rossa Ryan takes the ride. He run in the nine and a half handicap.

Al Rufaa was a course winner on his second start for the yard. He hasn’t had things fall his way in a couple of starts since, where the slow pace didn’t really suit him. He steps up in trip here, something we’ve been keen to try for a while. The only slight risk is that Al Rufaa can be free early in his races.

The big danger here looks to be Civil Law who has an excellent course and distance record. He was runner up in a decent race on Boxing Day, that run followed a course and distance win. Wadacre Gomez has been progressing of late but this would be a career best.

Al Rufaa runs for owners Carter, Lofthouse and Capture The Moment. He will be led up by Jan Kasecky who cares for him daily at home.
