Thoughts on Amor Invicto this afternoon
Amor Invicto runs in the 2.00 at Catterick today (Tuesday, September 15th). Tony Hamilton who has a great strike rate for us takes the ride in the six furlong maiden. Amor Invicto didn’t appear to stay the mile at Chelmsford last time although jockey Martin Lane felt that it was partly due to him being a bit green when he hit the front and losing momentum at a crucial moment. The drop to six may or may not work, he has some speed but is sure to be doing his best work at the business end of the race. We hope the ground doesn’t get very soft, but on the other hand that may bring his stamina into play.
Geno brings a good level of form to the race, with Shaka Zulu not far behind. However both have looked not one hundred percent straight forward and are vulnerable. It’s hard to make a lot of sense out of Chandresh as he was no match for two much more talented rivals last time in a three runner race but wasn’t disgraced. Amor Invicto wouldn’t have to find a load of improvement to be involved in a race that isn’t as cut and dried as it appears on paper at first glance.
