Thoughts on Andaleep

Andaleep makes the short trip from Sarsen Farm to Newbury racecourse today where he lines up for the first time this season in the 2.05pm, Richard Kingscote rides.

Andaleep was real star for the yard last season. He joined us in May on a long losing streak rated 69. Over the course of the next couple of months he won five races and collected nearly £50,000 in prize money. Increasing his rating to 86. He has enjoyed a well earned break and now we have some better ground is ready to go. It will be hard to repeat last season as he starts at a higher level.

Kudos to Newbury for putting on good prize money for this race. They have been rewarded with a fiercely competitive field. There is a conundrum in working out the dangers as the strong recent form is largely on very soft ground. It looks like we will be on fast ground today so not all of that form will stand up. Sun King probably sets the standard, he drops in class and has fast ground form. Tuxedo Junction is lightly raced and open to more progression, but was well held by Mustazeed when they met over course and distance.

Andaleep runs in the colours of owner James Finch and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who rides and cares for him daily at home.
