Thoughts on Andaleep

Andaleep runs at Epsom today (July 28th) in a ten furlong Apprentice Handicap under William Cox at 5.55pm.

The combination fell just short last week in a similar contest at Sandown. Under similar conditions they must have another good chance. Andaleep has won and been in the frame on all his three starts since joining us. Earlier in his career he was fifth in the Ladies Derby and it appeared that it was the trip rather than the course that caught him out that so we are hopeful he will handle the track. His win for the yard came at Goodwood which gives further confidence he should handle Epsom.

Pablo Prince really appreciated the switch to turf in race which has worked out quite well. He is probably the biggest danger. Silastar was behind Andaleep at Sandown but does get a much more experienced jockey which may help. Stopnsearch ran a good race over course and distance last time in a higher grade, albeit that might not be the most solid of form for the class of the race he nonetheless warrants respect.

Andaleep runs for owner James Finch and will be led up by Shannon Pasotti who cares for him daily at home.
