Thoughts on Arishka

Arishka runs in the 8.00 at Newcastle. Kieran O’Neill rides the filly in the 5 furlong handicap. Arishka put her best run to date at Newcastle over six furlongs when finishing second, she made all the running that day just to get pipped late on so the drop back to five should be fine.

The main opposition looks likely to come from last time out winner Hanakotoba and the lightly race Hanati. Kickham Street has less obvious claims but the hood and drop back to five could well prove helpful to the gelding who was very keen over six furlongs on his most recent start. His very first run was full of promise in a decent race.
