Thoughts on Astro King – Saudi
An exciting day head of us as Astro King returns to the track today, he has travelled out to Saudi and is set to line up in the Group 2 Neom Cup at at 4.10pm (UK time) Richard Kingscote takes the ride.
Astro King proved he’s capable of competing at this level when a slightly unlucky in running sixth in the Bahrain International Trophy in November. He had a short break at home after and has been built back up for this. He seems to enjoy travelling and the fast track should suit.
If Luxembourg runs up to his best this will be tough for the rest, against he does have the widest stall. Of the remainder of the field it’s a puzzle matching up the international form. Spirit Dancer and The Foxes seem the most likely dangers of the British challengers. Of the Japanese trio Killer Ability seems the most fancied and to have his optimum conditions.
Astro King runs for owners Capture The Moment, Carter & Lofthouse. Tamsin Karn and Mark Lawson travelled over with him, his regular work partner Mark has been riding him out each day with Tamsin caring for him and they have done a great job with him. Jan Kasecky cares for Astro King daily at home and has looked after him beautifully.
As always it’s been a huge team effort to get the horse here and we are hopeful of another big run.
