Thoughts on Atlantic Heart
Atlantic Heart lines up in the 3.40pm at Salisbury today under David Egan.
The three year old tackles a mile for the first time. She has been doing her best work towards the end of seven on her last couple of starts. This suggests that the extra furlong should help her to get her head front following her recent second and third placed efforts at Chepstow. She’s drawn relatively wide, so will need a bit of luck to get a nice position.
A pretty open handicap with a good sized field, quite a few of Atlantic Heart’s rivals have bits and pieces of form that give them a chance in this sort of race but they aren’t always consistent. Accrington Stanley, Damascus Finch and Sly Madam look among the more likely ones. Three year old Damascus Finish ran well at Leicester on softer going and his form at this level looks strong, if one over looks a slightly below par run last time out.
Atlantic Heart runs in the colours of owner Patrick O’Connor and will be led up by Sammy Barnett who cares for her daily at home.
