Thoughts on Bailiwick at Wovlerhampton today
Bailiwick runs in the 2.20 at Wolverhampton this afternoon (Monday, 15th February). George Baker rides the gelding in the 7 furlong handicap. Bailiwick enjoyed no luck in running from a wide draw at Chelmsford last time out and as a result has slipped down the handicap. He is now in racing at a lower level on and on his best efforts over the winter looks to have a competitive chance. He wears blinkers again as we never really got a chance to see what kind of an impact they make to him last time out.
The race looks quite a tight affair and tactics and luck in running will play a part. Irish raider and dual course winner is looking to bounce back after nothing went her way on Friday, but from a wide draw and on a short turn around its not straightforward. Mercury should enjoy conditions and will be a danger if putting his best foot forward today and Mr Christopher ought to be in the mix as well. If able to overcome a wide draw Hawk Moth is another to consider.
Bailiwick and Groom Lucy Rourke winnning best turned before his last start at Chelmsford.
